Centre for Environmental Education, Asomatos. Run by the local authority of Evergetoulas. This is responsible for and promotes environmental education in the Island   

The Environmental Education Group  (University of the Aegean Environmental Studies Department). A student-run group that focuses on education about the environment, including the preservation of wetlands and the need for sewerage treatment plants. They have developed educational booklets for different age groups, suitable for use in the schools in Lesbos. They are willing to share their educational materials with interested individuals, as they are not presently capable of visiting all the schools in Lesbos.

Greekofile  an independent publication for those interested in: Greece and the Greek islands;Greek people and traditions, Greek food, cooking, history, mythology, language, music and books.

Hellenic Ornithological Society  The Hellenic Ornithological Society is the only Greek non-governmental body exclusively concerned with the protection of wild birds and their habitats in Greece. It is a non-profit organisation,  founded in 1982. The website contains a large collection of articles and on-line books with information about the life of birds, their habitats, and environmental protection.

Honeyguide Wildlife Tours One of the wildlife tour companies that visits the Island. Unlike (unfortunately) some of the others, this company is genuinely green. They are additionally good supporters of Friends of Green Lesbos. Strongly recommended.

Omilos Ydatinos  A new environmental group for Lesbos, based in Mytilene and linked to WWF. Ydatinos has a broad environmental agenda [including environmental education] and seeks an active local membership.
